Renga @ IndieCade (Day 2)
Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 9:07AM This is video I took Saturday night at the "Night Games" public event at IndieCade of collaborative multiplayer game called Renga by wallFour. It is a real treat to watch. The game is controlled by hundredds of participants with laser pointers on a massive projection. Players upgrade a ship and outfit it with the necessary resources to withstand a threat from an enemy called the "Renga."
The feeling of being outside with crowds cheering the players on was a unifying experience, like applause on independence day or a more meaningful sporting event. It was a palpable atmosphere and a roller coaster ride of emotion as a friendly mob.
Without further adieu, here is the amazing footage of the last few minutes of a most epic victory for humankind, shot live in the late evening among crowds of spectators on the downtown streets of Culver City, CA.

Chelsea Howe also wrote a beautiful piece about this event. I'm glad I wasn't the only one moved by this.
